In December 2022, we hit 2 MILLION items of underwear distributed to people in need in Africa and the UK. This brings mixed feelings. On the one hand, we’re proud to be delivering much-needed underwear, giving dignity to those in need. But on the other hand, in a better world Smalls wouldn't need to exist.
During 2022, we received the highest number of requests we've ever had and, given the current cost-of-living crisis, we don't anticipate fewer requests in 2023. However, the crisis also means donations are down – donations of both underwear and money are about a third of what they were before Covid struck. The Movement for Good Award of £1,000 is a wonderful boon as it will be a great help towards our running costs – for example, electricity to light and heat our warehouse – over this tight winter ahead.
