The grant will go towards transforming the content for our national training scheme for drivers supporting passengers with additional needs. The new accessible content will take an innovative and person-centred approach to supporting disabled people, working towards an inclusive society, particularly in terms of travel. When it is launched next Spring, the training will impact the lives of hundreds of disabled people who make their journeys via Community Transport.
I am delighted that the CTA have been awarded a grant of £10,000 from the Movement for Good programme. The grant will significantly contribute to the transformation of our accessible driver training and ensure that it is contemporary, user led, and up to date. It will mean that more disabled people travelling via Community Transport experience safe, legal, and comfortable journeys across the UK in years to come.
